We are pleased to announce the launch of the annual AAPG Imperial Barrel Award (IBA) and all Asia Pacific geoscience universities are invited to participate in the 2015 Asia Pacific virtual semifinals.

AAPG’s Imperial Barrel Award Program is an annual basin/prospect evaluation competition for geoscience graduate students from universities around the world. University teams compete to win scholarship funds dedicated to graduate student petroleum geoscience education. The program is rigorous and contributes to AAPG’s mission of promoting petroleum geoscience training and advancing the careers of geoscience students.

Since 2007, participating students from Asia Pacific have immensely benefited from this unique competition and with we look forward to continue developing young talents through this key AAPG’s program.

N.B. To facilitate the winning school being present at the Global Finals (29-30 May 2015, Denver Colorado), schools are responsible to ensure that all participating students hold a valid and current passport by January 2015. Visa approvals to enter the USA can take a few months.
