The AAPG Regions are made up of individuals and affiliated geological societies. They combine their efforts to organize technical meetings, generate content for publications and newsletters.
Currently there are six Regions and each elects Councillors to serve on the Advisory Council for three-year terms. If the Region has more than 750 members, their councillor may vote on the Advisory Council.
Most AAPG Regions have an office in them to help the members with their projects. Take time to visit each Region page to learn about their leadership, activities in their area and read news or science articles either in or about their area.
