This AAPG Geosciences Technology Workshop investiging the Paleozoic hydrocarbon potential of North Africa is intended to provide participants with the opportunity to describe and discuss the Paleozoic petroleum system, the structural evolution of Paleozoic basins and their associated play types. Field Seminar:

The field trip will cover a visit to the Atlas, Anti-Atlas of Marrakech and Ouarzazate areas of Morocco. Participants will view Paleozoic outcrops which display complete Cambrian to Devonian successions and contain several organic-rich intervals; and will offer spectacular views of the largest oasis in North Africa, along the Draa River, and its majestic ancient Kasbahs.
