Effective September 14, 2009, AAPG engaged Ms. Adrienne Pereira to work with the Association in the Asia Pacific Region as an independent contractor. Adrienne will continue in this capacity while AAPG incorporates as a charitable organization in Singapore. Adrienne brings a wealth of experiences from conference marketing, logistics and management to government protocol and staff development.

On last Friday (3April 2009) I visited Sindh University Jamshoro, Pakistan on the invitation of Dr Safraz Solongi, Director of the Center of the Pure and Applied Geology. During this visit I delivered a lecture : ”Career as Petroleum Geoscientist, New in oil Industry, what you need to know. How to prepare yourself ”. This visit was very interesting and meaningful, not only for me but to the students and faculty members as well.

Syed Tariq Hasany visited Kazakhstan British Technical University (KBTU) Almaty, Kazakhstan on 12 February 2009 and Kazakstan National Technical University (KNTU), Almaty, Kazakhstan on 17 February 2009. His visit in KBTU was attended by 50 to 65 students and about 3 faculty members. And his visit in KNTU was attended by 12 students.
