Recipients of 2020 AAPG Student Chapter Awards, encompassing recognition for student and volunteer achievements around the entire world, have been announced by AAPG.Â
AAPG Asia Pacific is proud to announce another two expert talks in AAPG Asia Pacific Presents, a program of online talks being offered free of charge. Each hour-long talk will be conducted through Zoom. Presentations will be followed by a short Q&A period, handled by a moderator. The Asia Pacific region completed our IBA2020 competition on 26 March, with 8 participating schools. Teams were evaluated on multiple aspects including integrated petroleum systems analysis, basic technical interpretations, regional context, team work. Congratulations to all the teams!
Due to the current situation in Myanmar, the organizing committee considers that it is not appropriate to proceed with the conference as planned. We are also monitoring the Covid-19 pandemic situation and restrictions. As and when it is appropriate and safe to proceed, we will inform all interested parties of the new schedule. AAPG and EAGE intend to proceed with this conference when conditions allow.
Some 257 people gathered at the beautiful new Hilton Hotel in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea (PNG) in the last week of February 2020 to attend the First AAPG/EAGE PNG Petroleum Geoscience Conference and Exhibition. The theme for the conference was: PNG’s Oil and Gas Industry Maturing Through Exploration Development and Production. Three days of technical sessions were held featuring 3 keynote talks, 50 technical papers and 20 poster sessions.
