Mark Schneider, P. Eng. (BS Chemical Engineering, BS Natural Gas Engineering, and MS Petroleum Engineering) is a registered Professional Engineer.  In September 2010, he joined Rose and Associates as a Senior Associate based in Jakarta, Indonesia.  He has lived in North America, Europe and Asia accumulating over 30 years’ experience with BHP, Maxus Energy, Repsol and CNOOC in development, exploration, joint ventures, new ventures, project evaluations, acquisitions, divestments, risk analysis, reserves reporting and quality control teams.  In 1997, Maxus Energy’s exploration department set up a worldwide systematic risk analysis process and he was an original member of the “Risk Normalization Team” which was responsible for normalizing prospect evaluations and risking across all business units.  Ever since, he has been a champion and mentor of systematic risk analysis and uncertainty quantification.  He has served on many local, regional and international committees with SPE, AAPG and EAGE.  In 2002, he received the SPE Asia-Pacific Regional Service Award. He is a member of AAPG, ASA, EAGE, IPA, SPE and SEAPEX.  He has co-authored papers in the SPE, SEG and IPA literature.
