With State Registration in Texas now a reality, members may be wondering why they need to retain their membership in the DPA? In writing this piece I realized that the answer to this question was really why I joined the DPA in the first place. In 1986 I had just left a major oil company and was striking out as an independent. I was an unknown to both possible consulting clients and companies that were looking for prospects. Since I lived in California my first step was to become registered in the state.
