Distinguished Instructor
The Distinguished Instructor program is a new program intended to complement the Distinguished Lecture series. It will comprise half-day, full-day and/or two-day short courses as opposed to one-hour lectures. The program will feature annual domestic and international tours. This inaugural season the program is available to geological societies. Eventually, officials plan to make it available to university departments, and to expand the program to include up to three speakers annually for both the domestic and international arenas.
The AAPG Distinguished Lecture Series was developed to offer outstanding speakers on current research and applicable geology. Anyone can attend the lectures, which are hosted by AAPG affiliated geological societies or university departments.

Arrange for a Lecturer
Domestic lecturers tour the U.S., Canada and Mexico, while international speakers are listed separately. Abstracts contain an outline of the lecture subject as well as speaker biographical information. As tour itineraries become available, they are posted on this site.
The AAPG staff works directly with participating university and society lecture program chairs to schedule Distinguished Lecturers domestically. If you do not know the name of your local group's chair, please contact Karen J. Dotts at kdotts@aapg.org..
Program Funding
The Distinguished Lecture program is supported with funding through the AAPG Foundation. To offset some of the travel expenses, host groups have some financial responsibilities.
