The Colombian Association of Energy Geologists and Geophysicists (ACGGP), in collaboration with the American Association of Petroleum Geologists Latin America and Caribbean Region (AAPG LACR), invites you to join industry leaders and technical experts to discuss strategic issues related to subsurface exploration in Colombia and throughout the region. Coming to Santa Marta on 29-31 May, the 1st Energy Exploration Convention highlights the role of the oil and gas industry in providing energy security, developing the future of renewable and non-renewable resources, and meeting energy transition objectives by generating societal wealth and mitigating the effects of climate change.

This course presents the combined core and cuttings digitalization techniques of CoreDNA and QEMSCAN analysis, providing mineralogy, rock strength, grain size, porosity, pore size and permeability datasets.

Optimizing Unconventional Reservoir Exploration/Development Using Petroleum Geochemistry

This course reviews how key questions are resolved through integration of geological and engineering data with molecular and isotopic analyses of oils, condensates, mud gases, produced gases, waters and rocks. Participants will learn how naturally occurring tracers present in each sample type can be used collectively to resolve key uncertainties during exploration/development of unconventional reservoirs.
