The Student Chapter Program of AAPG is made up of collegiate groups of geoscience students. It is one of the world's foremost co-educational programs within the geoscience sector with over 300 chapters. It provides students the opportunity to develop leadership skills and serves as a focal point for developing a feeling of professionalism through meeting industry representatives.
Listed here are the Student Chapters organized in the Latin America Region.
As indicated in the Student Chapter Bylaws two reports are to be submitted to AAPG headquarters: a mid-year report in July and another at the end of the year. The Chapter’s reports keep AAPG Student Chapters eligible for many benefits and are what the Student Chapter Committee references in order to decide the Outstanding Student Chapters each year.
According to the Student Chapter Bylaws, when a chapter fails to submit a report they are moved into a "Suspended" status. Failure to submit two consecutive reports moves them to an "Inactive" state. Therefore, all known Student Chapters of the AAPG are included in this listing so students at their university may understand how simple it is to revive a chapter on their campus.
