IBA 2019 Now Accepting Team Applications

Dear Students and Faculty Advisors,

The Imperial Barrel Award competition is accepting team applications for this year’s petroleum exploration competition. Teams comprised of university grad students will compete with other schools within their Section or Region semifinals for their spot in the Global competition, which will be held during the AAPG 2019 Annual Convention and Exhibition in San Antonio, Texas, May 19-22.

Teams who advance to the Global competition will have the opportunity to compete for the following awards:

  • First place – Imperial Barrel Award, plus US $20,000.
  • Second place – Selley Cup, plus US $10,000.
  • Third place – Stoneley Medal, plus US $5,000.

Remaining teams will receive Honorable Mention, plus US $1,000.

Don’t miss this opportunity to make connections with like-minded grad students and show off your talent in the geosciences, and have the unique pleasure to network with industry professionals. Registration closes 14 December.
