Sometimes, it IS a good idea to mix business with pleasure. Members of the AAPG Foundation Trustee Associates met for the group’s annual meeting recently at the Barton Creek resort in the foothills of Texas Hill Country in Austin, Texas.

Construction continues for the new GE Global Research’s Oil & Gas Technology Center in Oklahoma City – part of the company’s three-year effort to triple R&D investment in the oil and gas industry. Perhaps you did a double take pulling the April issue of EXPLORER from the mailbox. What is this? If you joined AAPG in the last 40 years, you’ve only known EXPLORER in its long-standing tabloid format. It worked well for many years as our advertisers – particularly seismic companies – loved the large format and the ability to display their data on a sweeping canvas. For readers, it was a little more awkward.
