Abstract: Looking at Exploration through the Arab-D Eyes

Exploring for hydrocarbon resources is a challenging task that requires geoscientists to deal with a variety of data types and implement complex workflows to succeed. Quest for hydrocarbons typically starts out in the field and proceeds through a path of data acquisition, analysis and interpretation that requires considerable skill and experience. A glimpse of the nature of this quest is discussed through the example of the Arab-D reservoir, the most prolific reservoir in the world. Emphasis is placed on sedimentologic analysis and integration with micropaleontologic and petrophysical data in exploration and development activities.
