Saad Fahd Al-Awwad is a sedimentologist at Saudi Aramco. He was awarded his PhD in sequence stratigraphy in 2013 from Curtin University, Australia. Saad worked in reserves assessment, reservoir characterization, sequence stratigraphic analysis, exploration prospect generation and unconventional resources in various carbonate reservoirs in Saudi Arabia. Saad’s recent research has been focused on the high-resolution sequence stratigraphy of the Arabian plate’s Jurassic system. His research aims to understand reservoir and inter-reservoir facies architecture through the integration of sedimentologic, geophysical, micropaleontologic and petrophysical data.
