The first few years after college can be a big shock. While it is exciting to work with a team, and the pace of drilling and new projects can be exhiliarating, after a year or so, you may start to feel that you’re starting to become a bit isolated.

Applying knowledge or a skill to real life (or a real-life situation) is a great way to achieve deeper learning. You’re building on prior knowledge and you’re making connections between the skills / knowledge and your goals / problem at hand.

Chances are, the first thing you’ll do is to engage in informal e-learning, which is to say that you’ll do a Google search and read articles, white papers, advertising, customer testimonials, and commercial promotions in order to familiarize yourself.
