Michelle Judson began her 32-year career as an International Exploration & Production Executive with BP as an operations geologist on the North Slope of Alaska. Since that time, she has worked in many of the world’s major petroleum regions, including the Gulf of Mexico, U.S. Lower 48, Western Canada, North Sea, and Caspian Sea. Over her tenure, she has been instrumental to the success of a number of projects across the full upstream value chain, from exploration through production. In January 2010, Michelle was appointed to a newly created position of Vice President of Resource Appraisal, where she served as a member of BP’s Exploration Division Leadership Team until December 2013. In this role she was accountable for managing BP’s Upstream Resource Appraisal portfolio of conventional and unconventional assets . She has a deep understanding of the oil and gas E&P business and expertise in resource appraisal and technology strategy development. Michelle has a B.Sc. and a M.Sc. in Geology. Michelle retired from BP in March 2014 and is currently focusing her efforts on motivating others to develop a passion for education with a focus on geosciences and STEM curricula.
