Vinay K. Sahay has multidisciplinary experience of 12 years. Vinay completed his M.Sc.Tech. from Nagpur University in 2002 in Applied Geology and then completed M.Tech. from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 2007 in Earth Sciences with specialization in Geo-exploration. Earlier Vinay has worked as a Contract Trainee Geologist in Central Fuel Research Institute 2002, as a Contributory Teacher in Post Graduate Department of Geology in Nagpur University 2002, as an Assistant Geologist in Gupta Coalfields and Washeries Limited 2003-2005, then as a Teaching Assistant in Department of Earth Sciences in Indian Institute of Technology Bombay 2005-2007. Currently Vinay is a Geologist and Technical Head with MEPL (since 2007) in the field of an intellectual property research, development, selling and consultancy centre and has provided services to many companies. Vinay developed a prospective region identification workflow for minimizing dry prospects in fold and thrust belt regions as well as a geomechanical mapping oriented technique for efficient designing and execution of hydraulic fracturing in shale oil and gas reservoirs. He has also developed geo-engineering technology for enhanced recovery of light oil and gas without injection of water, gas and chemical in reservoir. Vinay is a member of Gondwana Geological Society (GGS), American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), Energy Minerals Division (EMD), Division of Professional Affairs (DPA), and Petroleum Structure & Geomechanics Division (PSGD). He is also a member of EMD Gas Hydrate Advisory Committee, and AAPG Student Chapter Committee. Vinay coordinates the AAPG Student Chapter Program in Indian, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. Earlier Vinay has served as an Advisory Committee Member, International Conference on Recent Developments in Stratigraphy, Pune India, 2013.
