Brad Hayes is a graduate of the University of Toronto (B.Sc. 1978) and the University of Alberta (Ph.D 1982), majoring in Geology. He began his petroleum industry career with Shell Canada Resources, then moved to Canadian Hunter Exploration, where he directed a multi-year exploration program which opened up the British Columbia Deep Basin as a major gas-producing area. In 1996, Brad joined Petrel Robertson, where he was a key player in building PRCL’s consulting and exploration expertise. He has been PRCL’s President since 2007, leading a group of geoscience professionals in petroleum-related geological consulting in Canada and around the world.

Brad has worked in most producing and prospective basins in Canada, and his international experience includes hydrocarbon-bearing basins in North and South America, Africa, Asia, and the Pacific. He has developed particular expertise in clastic reservoirs and unconventional gas and oil resource assessment and development during his career at Petrel Robertson.

Brad has been an AAPG member since 1979. He is also an active member of the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists, and served as its President in 2001. Brad is registered as a Professional Geologist in Alberta and British Columbia, and serves on Council for the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
