Welcome to an interview with Brian Holmes, Senior Sales Executive at Engage Mobilize Inc.

What is your background?

Brian Holmes
Brian Holmes
I graduated from Kansas University in 2000 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering and have been involved in oilfield services operations, management, and sales ever since. I spent 16 years with SLB including assignments in TX, CO, Nigeria, Austria, and Norway. Since 2012, Denver has been home and for the last 6-7 years I've been working in smaller or start-up technology companies spanning geomechanics, fiber optics and now O&G software focused on digital field operations management.

How did you become interested in innovation and new directions in the industry?

I have always been involved in new technology innovation and the value these services bring to oil and gas operators. Also, operationally, I have worked in HPHT basins, deep water, arctic, and other challenging environments where innovation and technology are being pushed to their limits. Having worked at a couple start up companies, it is refreshing to be around innovative cultures and working with founders that are passionate about technology and pushing the status quo.

Please describe a new technology or process that you are involved with.

My current employer, Engage Mobilize Inc., focuses on providing digital software tools to oil and gas operators and their OFS suppliers to manage field operations and services over the operational life cycle of well production. At its core, digital ticketing and invoicing products are the vehicle that replace paper tally books and field tickets with digital field data entry. However, the integrations to IoT devices like SCADA sensors drive predictive workflows to initiate work while also validating work for accuracy after its completion. Our goal is to increase efficiency of legacy workflows while saving time and money for operators and OFS companies.

Who will benefit from it?

The benefits span from the field to the C-suite but also from operations & production to finance & accounting as all services performed within Engage Mobilize combine GL & financial codes along with their respective service descriptions.

Where will the technology or process be in a year? three years? five years?

Development is constant in a SaaS company but the near-term focus is on improved user experience and interfaces, mid-term improvements will focus on building integrations with interrelated systems like production & financial accounting, while our long-term road map focuses on things like route optimization and more advanced workflow automation.

What makes you optimistic about the future?

The Engage Mobilize team and their passion to solve the problems of our current and future customers.

Please recommend a book or two that you found insightful.
