Dr. Samuel Armacanqui has more than 25 years of corporate experience, working globally with major IOCs and NOCs such as Shell, Conoco, PDVSA, PDO-Oman, Dea North Africa as well as Shale Oil Operators and Service Companies like Schlumberger, and Camco Reda. While working in Conventional and Unconventional Fields he was instrumental in developing and introducing Innovative Improvements for both subsurface and surface activities. His expertise ranges from Heavy, Extra-Heavy, Tight and Shale Oil and Gas Fields, having witnessed the development of the tools and techniques enabling Shale Oil and Gas Field Development: horizontal wells and multistage fracking since its beginnings.

He is a Petroleum Engineer with a PhD in Reservoir Engineering, Artificial Lift Expert and a Post-Doctorate in Projects and Business Management from the Clausthal University-Germany and is an international recognized Expert in topics of Sustainable and Profitable Field Development and Operation, Integrated Production Optimization, Pressure Transient Analysis, Static and Dynamic Model Description, Artificial Lift /ESO, BP, PCP, GL), conventional and Multiphase Well Testing, cost effective Remote Well Monitoring and Optimization, EOR for Shale Oil and tight Oil Fields, Artificial Intelligence applied to Reservoir Engineering, and Geology, Operational Excellence, Effective introduction of Innovations in Oil and Gas Fields, Advanced Tendering Techniques and Field Management in the Scenario of Low Oil Prices. He has initiated and participated in the development and field implementation of multiple Innovations to enhance Oil Production and optimize Well Operations. He has also singled authored and co-authored multiple SPE Papers and has given Professional Educational Training at advanced level for Senior Staff and to Company Executives on behalf of the SPE.
