The buoyancy and breach conceptual model presented in the attached article is thought to be novel. It was first presented in "Reservoir Modeling: Pitfalls in Practice and Projects Gone Wrong" (Amazon Books 2019). It may help explain the recent surge of horizontal well drilling in the transition zones (TZs) of the Permian Basin, and late-life redevelopment of TZs underlain by commonly occurring ROZs.
