Childhood ambitions:
It’s not really an ambition, but my mother was not surprised when I chose to major in geology in college – apparently when I was a child she always had to check my pants pockets for rocks before washing them.

B.S. & M.S. in Geosciences from University of Texas at Dallas (2003 & 2006 respectively)
Companies and Institutions I’ve worked for:
First geo-job/internship was with NASA’s Earth Observation Laboratory at the Johnson Space Center. My first oil patch career started at Matador Resources in Dallas, TX. Since then, I’ve worked for Matador Resources and am currently with ExxonMobil.

East Texas, Fort Worth, Deepwater Angola, Deepwater Nigeria

First Well/Research Program:
Haven’t seen any wells through from start to finish yet, but the Taylor field in Harrison County was my thesis project and will always be my first project as a petroleum geologist

I’ve had several great mentors along the way – I do my best to make sure I keep in touch with these people because they helped me lot and to thank them for being such great people to work with.

My Best Advice:
Every time you give a talk pretend that you are standing on an iceberg. Each word is a chip off of that iceberg. When you choose your words, choose wisely so that at the end of the talk you are still above water.
