Congressional Visits Day,
April 16-18, 2013
From April 16-18, AAPG staff members participated in the 2013 AAPG Congressional Visits Day (Congressional Visit Days). This annual event provides an opportunity for AAPG members to discuss petroleum science and energy issues with decision makers in the legislative and executive branches of the federal government.
During the afternoon of April 16, AAPG staff provided a brief overview of the legislative process, how Congress works, ways in which participants would be able to make the event successful and issues that are of concern to Washington. Wednesday was devoted to small-group visits to the executive branch as well as congressional committee offices. On April 18, small groups visited individual congressional offices.
