Katherine Romanak
Research Scientist at Bureau of Economic Geology, The University of Texas at Austin
Katherine is an expert in environmental monitoring at geologic CO2 storage sites and has developed and implemented environmental monitoring programs at several U.S. Department of Energy Regional Carbon Sequestration Partnership sites.
She has worked internationally at CO2 storage sites in Canada, Japan, and Australia, and is a member of the International Steering Committees for the IEAGHG Monitoring and Environmental Science Networks.
She regularly discusses global policy within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and has informed the U.S. Congress on environmental monitoring at geologic CO2 storage sites.
Nigel Jenvey
Global Head of Carbon Management at Gaffney, Cline & Associates
Nigel leads Gaffney Cline’s global Carbon Management practice by providing independent and confidential advice on carbon intensity, methane management, carbon markets, CCUS and green finance.
Before joining the company, he led CCUS initiatives at BP, Maersk Oil and Shell. Nigel is an industry leader in Carbon Management and expert in Carbon Capture, Use and Storage (CCUS), and he has held leadership roles on numerous North American and international committees.
Charles McConnell
Executive Director for Carbon Management and Energy Sustainability, University of Houston (UH)
Charles works closely with energy industry partners in oil and gas, petrochemicals, and the electric power markets to collaborate on new technologies, policies and business models for the future.
Previous positions include executive director of the Energy and Environment Initiative at Rice University and Assistant Secretary of Energy in the US Department of Energy from 2011-2013, under the Obama administration.
Chuck currently serves on the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Science Advisory Board and serves on a number of boards related to clean energy.
Carlo Procaccini
Head of Technology, UK Oil and Gas Authority
Carlo covers technology and innovation from R&D to field deployment. He has more than 20 years of experience in Oil and Gas projects and operations, both in downstream and in E&P.
Prior to joining the Oil and Gas Authority, Carlo worked for Schlumberger, both in the UK and internationally.

Professor Emeritus, Australian School of Petroleum & Energy Resources at the University of Adelaide
John has 40 years’ experience working in the energy sector, both in industry, with Shell, Arco and Vico, and academia.
A renowned CCUS expert, Kaldi presently serves as South Australia State Chair in Carbon Capture and Storage and CO2CRC Distinguished Scientist.
He has served as AAPG’s Vice President of International Regions and recently as the Chair of the AAPG House of Delegates.
