Energy Minerals Division

Advancing the understanding and pursuit of rare earth elements.

The Energy Minerals Division(EMD) aims to serve AAPG’s membership through advancing economic geology as it relates to nuclear and carbon minerals, geothermal energy, unconventional hydrocarbons, and renewable energy. Founded in 1977, EMD acts as an international forum for professionals working in the exploration, development, and production of energy sources other than conventional oil and natural gas.
