AAPG recently moved to a new, more sophisticated membership platform as of May 2026, so you’ll need to reset your password to log in to the new experience if you haven’t already.

1. Click the Login button in the upper right corner of AAPG.org
   1. You will be taken to the Sign in screen.
2. Under the “Password” Label, click on the “Forgot your password?” link.
3. Enter your email address in the box.
4. Click on the “Reset by password” button.
5. You will receive an email with a link to reset your password.

1. Click the Login button in the upper right corner of AAPG.org
2. Click the bell notification in the upper right corner of the Member Portal.
3. Click ‘Renew Membership.’
4. You’ll be redirected to begin the renewal process
   1. Review and update your information
   2. Update or use saved payment information

When renewing your membership, you’ll have the option to opt in for auto-renewal upon checkout.

1. You can opt in (or out) of auto-renewal at any time by logging in, then clicking the profile icon in the top-right of the screen, “My Profile.”
2. Click the header labeled “Membership.”
3. Select your membership (do not click the Renew button).
4. Scroll down, below Membership Info, and locate the checkbox that says “Automatic Payments: Please automatically renew my membership when it expires.”
5. Check the box and follow the prompts to add or update payment information
   1. Uncheck this box at any time to opt out of auto-renewal

1. Go to AAPG.org, click “Login” in the upper right corner, and log in.
2. In the Member Portal, locate ‘Explorer’ from the list of menu options
3. Select ‘Access Digital Archive’ from the dropdown list

Explorer PDFs are no longer made available to the public due to copyright concerns and to ensure that Explorer remains a benefit to AAPG members only. Explorer issues can be downloaded on any device for offline reading via the Explorer Archive. You must be on Wi-Fi to download issues from the archive, to access them later offline.

1. Follow the steps in the FAQ above to access the digital archive
2. Install the Explorer archive app
   1. On desktop:
      1. Locate and click the Install icon in the upper right corner of your browser
      2. A pop-up will open, click Install again
      3. The Explorer app will now be on your desktop. Pin it to your taskbar for easy reading.
      4. Open the Explorer app
      5. Scroll down to the bottom of the app, select Manage Issues
      6. Select Enable Offline Reading
      7. The homepage will reload. The latest Explorer issues will now have download arrows underneath the covers.
      8. Select the download icons next to recent issues. When you’re ready to read offline, open the app and you’ll see your downloaded issues!
   2. On mobile/tablet:
      1. Open the archive in your browser
      2. Select ‘Add to home screen’ in the middle of the archive homepage
      3. A pop-up will open, click Install
      4. Exit out of your browser, and locate the AAPG Explorer app among your other apps
      5. Open the Explorer app
      6. Scroll down to the bottom of the app, select Manage Issues
      7. Select Enable Offline Reading
      8. The homepage will reload. The latest Explorer issues will now have download icons underneath each cover.
      9. Select the download icon to save each issue. When you’re ready to read offline, open the app and you’ll see your downloaded issues!
