The story continues, with women becoming more engaged in exploration and active in the industry, but also in making significant, often historic contributions to the science of geology – including a look at the beginnings of biostratigraphy and the era of micropaleontology, and the women who made it all possible.
Women cited include Reba Masterson, Julia Gardner (a giant in the industry, and legendary for her contributions to the science of geology – including her work in biostratigraphy), Dollie Radler Hall (the first woman to become an Honorary member of AAPG), Esther Richards Applin-Alva Ellisor-Hedwig Kniker (all famed for their groundbreaking work in micropaleontology) and Doris Curtis (groundbreaking work in integrating paleontology and stratigraphy).
