The voice of AAPG's affiliated societies
AAPG’s House of Delegates (HoD) is made up of representatives from affiliated societies and international regions throughout the world. They are selected by popular vote from within their respective regions and serve a three-year term.
HoD leaders disseminate information from AAPG to their respective society or region and assist in recruiting prospective AAPG members. The HoD is led by three officers.

House of Delegates Committees
In addition to the Officers who oversee the House of Delegates, and the individual delegates who make up the HoD, there are committees that exist to acquire and retain new members, facilitate the HoD’s honors and awards programs, plus manage bylaws, elections, rules, and procedures within the HoD.
The membership committee recruits new members to AAPG and works on various initiatives with the AAPG staff to retain existing members.
This committee is responsible for nominating candidates for consideration for the following awards: Honorary Member of the House, Distinguished Member of the House, and House Recognition of Service. Learn more about the House of Delegates Honors ad Awards.
The constitution and bylaws committee reviews and presents proposed amendments to the HoD bylaws including such amendments’ purpose, function, and significance.
The nomination and election committee is comprised of one delegate from each section and region and is responsible for presenting officer candidates for the house’s consideration. Additionally, they are responsible for the administration of the annual HoD election.
The rules and procedures committee reviews the rules and procedures of the house, reviews proposals for change, and makes recommendations for changes in the rules and procedures.
