The Power of Geoscience – Adapting in a Changing Energy Landscape

Dr. Lauren Birgenheier is Professor in the Geology and Geophysics Department at University of Utah. She is a nationally recognized sedimentary geologist and geochemist, specializing in energy and critical minerals development, as well as paleoclimate reconstruction. She has eighteen years of experience at University of Utah working across industry and academia to address energy and critical mineral challenges. She was a 2018 AAPG Inspirational Geoscience Educator awardee and 2019 GRIT team awardee for broadening the energy workforce. She serves as Associate Dean for Faculty in the College of Science at the University of Utah.
