Course Content

This one-day course prepares participants to become familiar with the issues in the niche discipline of geohazards assessment. Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to identify, select, and interpret the appropriate geohazards data, understand different types of geohazards documents, and engage the full-time geohazards specialist to complete a thorough assessment. This course gives participants knowledge on various aspects of geohazards for shallow water, deepwater environments, and an introduction to onshore issues. This knowledge directly leads to selecting the relevant data and following correct geohazards procedures to ensure compliance with accepted HSE policies, technical standards, and industry guidelines. The case studies include numerous examples globally, including in Europe, North America, South America, Africa, and Asia-Pacific.

Participants will be able to identify, select relevant data, and carry out interpretation of appropriate geohazards information. They will also be able to distill the right information from geohazards documents and integrate appropriately with the full-time geohazards specialist to complete a thorough assessment.

The course is designed for early career geohazards specialists, exploration and development geoscientists, reservoir engineers, well engineers, geotechnical engineers, geomatics staff, E&P managers, or anyone wanting to expand their knowledge of this topic.
