Saturday 22nd October saw the hosting of a student lecture by Apache Corporation, Egypt under the Visiting Geoscientist Program, VGP. A total of twenty five students representing AAPG student chapters in Egypt were invited to the lecture which was delivered by Dr. Ashraf Ghali.

In the evening of September 8th, the AAPG Curtin Student Chapter hosted Manager of Energy Geoscience, Ameed Ghori from the Western Australian Department of Mines and Petroleum for a technical talk on basins and petroleum systems modelling. He also discussed the future of the petroleum industry as part of the AAPG Visiting Geoscientist Program.
