You just never know what might happen if you’ll just ask.

The AAPG web team has been offsite this week attending DotNetNuke World 2011. This conference focuses on the platform we will eventually migrate AAPG websites to.

The event was kicked off by DotNetNuke’s CTO and co-founder Shaun Walker. To his surprise, the DNN staff had a bobble head created for this first-ever DNN-exclusive conference.

Attending the conference is Justin Acton, our .NET developer, Bogdan Michka, web producer and myself. We attended training on Tuesday and this has been the first day of the conference.

Today (11/10) happens to be the birthday for Bogdan.

Now, it was privilege enough for the web team to come to this conference. And we are excited about the enhancements DNN has announced and how it’s going to benefit the AAPG website.

But, what’s a birthday without a party? I didn’t bring a gift so we managed to get the next best thing.

I asked the DNN CMO, Mitch Bishop, who emceed the conference if he could present one of these bobble heads for Bogdan. Mitch loved the idea. So to kick off the evening gala he presented Bogdan with one of the 50 limited-edition bobble heads for this event.

We also managed to snap a picture of Bogdan with some of the DNN team and Shaun Walker who is pretty easy to spot since he’s the casual one in the middle, just to Bogdan’s left, and dressed exactly like the bobble head.

Congratulations, Bogdan, and happy birthday! It’s a privilege to work with you and I look forward to all the wonderful ways we’ll be improving AAPG’s website.
