Learn from your home or office by attending AAPG Online Short Course, Python Coding and Petroleum, 25–27 August 2020, 8:00 am–11:00 am (CDT). 

This hands-on coding and app course will feature programming in Python and use the platforms and software packages that are available either open-source, or free (or almost free), along with possible trial licenses. 

Participants will work through writing code for typical workflows that are performed daily as a geoscientist or an engineer to solve oil and gas challenges. The course will look at a series of open-source modules and APIs, as well as some examples of how we can use them effectively.

  5. Cookbooks and other Use Cases
  6. Delivering Your Data

  • No prior Python experience necessary
  • Course counts toward the GeoAnalytics Certificate
  • Course will be held via Zoom

Seth Anderson has a degree in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin and has worked with web applications and analytics software in both start-up and large corporations. Now, as the CTO and Co-Founder of Nesh, Seth has worked to build out a smart assistant for oil and gas to help make their data more easily accessible and better understood.
