Geoscientists Without Borders Special Call for Applications

A special call for mainland United States projects is taking place for 2023.

Project Leads serving communities in historically underrepresented groups or communities at risk by using geosciences to solve humanitarian challenges — such as access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) pollution abatement, disaster risk reduction, building resilience, and other similar topics — are especially encouraged to apply. For a full list of types of projects that GWB supports, please visit our Funded Projects page.

Projects that are working to serve communities in greater Houston area, Texas and Louisiana bordering regions and other neighborhoods in that area — are encouraged to apply, especially those with women project leads.

Dr. Susan Smith Nash has organized numerous workshops, forums, educational events and research conferences on the topic of unconventional resources in her capacity of Director of Education and Professional Development of the AAPG. In addition, she has worked with cross-disciplinary teams to work on knowledge transfer, understanding, and research initiatives in optimizing exploration and development of unconventional and mature reservoirs. Her current interests involve supporting new technologies for green development of unconventionals.
