To add an external link in a discussion group, simply paste in a valid URL. The editor will turn the URL into a live link.
For example, pasting in
http://www.aapg.org/career/aapg-net/discussion-boards-faq
will result in
NOTE: Don't forget the "http://" in the URL you're pasting!
