AAPG’s Rift Basin Evolution and Exploration: The Global State of the Art and Applicability to the Middle East and Neighboring Regions GTW took place from 3-5 February 2020 at the InterContinental Regency Hotel in Bahrain. We welcomed 52 attendees from 19 different companies and 7 different countries.

The workshop was opened by an inaugural keynote from Saleh Al-Saleh, Manager of the Red Sea Exploration Department, Saudi Aramco, followed by 22 presentations that covered a large variety of topics related to rift basin evolution and exploration. The workshop also featured 4 breakout sessions and a rifted margins interactive seismic workshop led by Paul Bellingham, ION Geophyscial. The aim of the workshop was to investigate the latest geological and geophysical thinking on the development and exploration of rifted basins.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincerest appreciation to the workshop committee members for their hard work and continuous efforts. We would also like to thank our platinum sponsor Saudi Aramco and coffee break sponsor ION for their generous contributions. Finally, we would like to thank all those who presented and attended, for helping make this workshop possible. The workshop was a great success and we thoroughly enjoyed sharing this experience with you all.
