Block Your Calendar: AAPG/EAGE/SPE Shale Gas Evolution Symposium

Under the Patronage of his Excellency Shaikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa, Minister of Oil of the Kingdom of Bahrain, AAPG, EAGE and SPE have joined forces to deliver the Shale Gas Evolution Symposium to be held on 11-13 December 2018 in Bahrain.

This 2.5 day symposium will attract world experts in exploration, characterization, drilling, fracturing and completion. Best practices and case studies of what the industry has learned on shale gas exploitation in the last few years will be presented and discussed so the attendees can greatly benefit from the exchange of knowledge and expertise of the contributors. Technical Poster presenters will also be invited to share their findings with the participants.

The event will consist of oral presentations, poster presentations and breakout sessions where participants can discuss and investigate a specific theme that is of mutual interest. The first day will feature an inaugural keynote speech by a high-profile professional from the industry.

The symposium will feature the following sessions:

  • Session 1: Shale Plays With Long Histories of Production
  • Session 2: Integrated Workflows for Shale Gas Characterization
  • Session 3: Productivity and Economics
  • Session 4: Shale Gas 4.0
  • Session 5: Best Practices and Lessons Learnt: Challenges and Opportunities

Attendees are invited to prepare a poster display for presentation. Interested participants should send a short abstract along with the poster artwork (in PDF high resolution format) to by 30 October 2018.
