The AAPG Imperial Barrel Award (IBA) is an annual basin/prospect evaluation competition for geoscience graduate students. The Asia Pacific Region can accommodate 12 teams and these will be chosen on a “first-come-first-served” basis amongst those that make a final commitment to the programme.

The recipients from our region for 2010 are Justin MacDonald of the University of Adelaide who obtained a grant from the Gordon I. Atwater Memorial Grant and Sam Hemmings-Sykes of the Victoria University of Wellington who received one from the Wallace E Pratt Memorial Grant.
