International Energy Summit 2020, 24-25 October 2020, Online.

From basic inspection to maintenance, predicting the corrosion in production pipelines, study production history and history matching in reservoir analysis or even predicting geomechanical parameters for new wells in the same field for drilling programs in exploration, artificial intelligence has all that potential to be adapted in order to enhance the qualities of the oil and gas industry in every particular sector mentioned above or even beyond. In countries especially Asian countries like Indonesia which have a relatively high human population, the demands of energy will keep on rising dynamically with the development of technology and globalization. This situation we are facing would eventually need more efficacy to reach those numbers of demands on energy.

Artificial intelligence systems have the ability to process millions of data streams to provide actionable insight that complements human skills, hence, creating a higher efficiency in fulfilling the increasing demand of energy which oil and gas is able to serve. In light of hoping to broaden the knowledge of utilizing such artificial intelligence in this field, this year's International Energy Summit (IES) 2020 brings up the theme of "Artificial Intelligence: Challenges and Innovations for Petroleum Industry." IES 2020 offers the chance and platform to understand the big picture on how artificial intelligence in the oil and gas industry works and at the same time realizing how big the potential it embodies.

There are several events held by AAPG UGM - Student Chapter for IES 2020, and this includes a competition, a seminar, and career talk. The events generally bring the topic of artificial intelligence as the main focus based on global interest now and upcoming years. This year, IES 2020 is also celebrating the 20th anniversary of AAPG UGM - Student Chapter by recognizing the milestones and the momentous journey as an outstanding student chapter majoring in petroleum geoscience and industry in Gadjah Mada University.

Seminar

This year's seminar will be held with the theme of Artificial Intelligence: Challenges and Industry. The seminar will mainly discuss artificial Intelligence in the petroleum industry and the role of geologists and geophysicists in the future. The goal for this event is to provide fellow geologists with solutions and making the geophysicists aware of the current condition in petroleum industry within the existence of artificial intelligence and prepare to face the challenges the future.

Competition

At IES 2020, we will hold the "Technology for Energy Infographic Competition". (See embedded PDF). The competition will display information and present a flow of images and will facilitate the introduction of the latest technology for energy exploration activities. Thus, the advantages and disadvantages of these developments can be conveyed better.

Career Talk

Realizing the tight competition for looking at the new job for fresh graduates, International Energy Summit 2020 will hold an event that can make the new graduates have a new insight into the work condition. IES 2020 brings the theme of "Beyond The Limits" for the career talk event. This theme defines how Geoscientists adapt to the changing of the global situation. We would like to share how 'New Normal' conditions affect GnG and the way GnG uses the Artificial Intelligence in their work in order to not be completely replaced by Artificial.
