AAPG student chapter Banaras Hindu University organised the annual programme which was a three-day geology fiesta from 19th February to 21st February 2019. The event was a great success as we had maximum participation from the students and received positive feedback from everyone. The annual programme consisted of intellectual seminars and workshops by staff of Reliance. The events held are as follows-

19th February, 2018

The day was full of mind-boggling seminar sessions by distinguished guests from different colleges and universities:

• Professor Hema Achyuthan , Department of Geology, Anna University on ‘Limnological studies and late quaternary paleoclimate reconstuction’ and ‘Sedimentary Geochemistry’.
• Dr. Sandip Kr Roy, Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH) on ‘Unconventional Hydrocarbn in India’ and ‘Nuances of deep water clastics’.
• Dr. Prabir Dasgupta, Associate Professor of Geology from Durgapur Goverment College on : ‘Sedimentary Gravity Flow. A conceptual problem’

20th February, 2018

The first workshop was held on the second day with huge participation of our own University students. This workshop was conducted by Dr. Achutya Ayan Mishra, Senior Geologist, Reliance Petroleum Industries on ‘Structural Geological Seismic Interpretation.’

21st February, 2018

Another successful workshop was held on the third day of our annual programme conducted by Dr. Sudipta Basu, Petroleum Analyst, Reliance Petroleum on ‘ Decision Analysis in Hydrocarbon Exploration and Production’.

It was a thoroughly exciting set of events, enjoyed by all.
