Hosted by Staatsolie, the 2-day event highlights recent activity and exploration activity in one of the world’s hottest basins.
The 2026 Suriname Technical Symposium builds on the momentum of previous events held in Paramaribo in January 2024 and May 2025 and provides new insights into the basin gained through recent exploration activities.
The program features keynote talks from Staatsolie and Ministry representatives, executive panels, and a series of technical presentations and interactive Q&A sessions organized along the following themes:

AAPG invites you to support the Suriname 2026 Technical Symposium, a multidisciplinary event bringing leading scientists and industry practitioners together to share best practices, exchange ideas, and explore opportunities for future collaboration.

All monies contributed will be used to offset conference expenses and to provide support to university students and speakers who need financial assistance to attend the workshop.

The Suriname Technical Symposium will be held at the Torarica Resort in Paramaribo.
The Torarica has three properties on-site: the Royal Torarica, the Torarica Resort and the Eco Torarica.

*Member rate applies to AAPG members who have paid their dues for the current fiscal year. Emeritus members are 65 years or older and have been members for 30 years. **Presenter rate applies to session chairs and presenters accepted for the technical program. +Academic and student rates apply to individuals currently on staff or enrolled at an academic institution.
Symposium registration fee includes participant materials and access to technical sessions and coffee breaks.
