The Rockies and Andes Workshop will be held in-person only to facilitate learning, sharing, and open discussion among all attendees.

The format includes oral and poster presentations, keynote talks, and interactive Q&A sessions organized along the following themes:

  • Future Proofing Energy: Strategies for Gas Reserve Replacement in Latin America and Western Canada
  • Smart E&P for Complex Plays: Technology-Driven Discoveries and Production in Fold and Thrust Belts
  • New Life for Mature Fields: Geoscience-Led Revitalization Across the Rockies and the Andes
  • Fostering Social Responsibility: Community Relations and Regulatory Considerations in Sensitive Environments
  • Repurposing Oil and Gas Infrastructure to Reduce Environmental Impact and Develop New Energy Solutions

In addition to providing valuable information and connection for industry professionals, the Rockies and Andes Workshop is designed to make a positive impact on next generation of geoscience leaders in Peru.

Students and Young Professionals (YPs) qualify for volunteer opportunities and deeply discounted registration fees, and they are invited to participate in two professional development activities:

  • Student Research Showcase: a poster session providing university students and recent graduates with the opportunity to share their work and receive feedback from international visitors attending the workshop
  • Student/YP Seismic Workshop: an interactive session led by globally recognized technical experts, free and open to all AAPG Student and YP Chapter members immediately following the event

AAPG invites you to support GTW Rockies and Andes 2026, a multidisciplinary event bringing leading scientists and industry practitioners together to share best practices, exchange ideas, and explore opportunities for future collaboration.

All monies contributed will be used to offset conference expenses and to provide support to university students and speakers who need financial assistance to attend the workshop.
