Topical Luncheon: Robotics and Automation in Drilling and Logging: What’s Next
Wednesday, 14 June 2023, 12:15 p.m.–1:20 p.m. | Denver, Colorado
Course Content
The status quo of formation evaluation either through surface logging or downhole logging introduces significant cost, risk, and uncertainty. Automated processes coupled with quantitative rock and gas composition analysis and further combined with data science and AI produces a set of logs which create an alternative to this status quo and a yet not commonly seen window into the subsurface. The data outputs are used to improve critical wellbore construction decisions such as casing point picks and geosteering in addition provides key data inputs for optimal well placement, improved spacing, improved drilling performance, and ultimately optimized completion and production. The presentation will review case studies and data sets from recent field deployments.
