Join us for special panel discussion about the skills that today's technical professionals must have now and for future operations. What is the role of traditional domain expertise? To what extent should team members need to know data analytics? What are some of the collaboration tools and remote technologies that are considered "must-have's"? What are the attitudes, values, and leadership skills viewed to be mission-critical?

Monique Velásquez is general manager of the Global Exploration Review Team, based in Houston, Texas. In her current position, she serves as the head of the Chevron’s corporate assurance group in charge of assessing the risk and size of the company’s global exploration portfolio. She is also part of Chevron’s executive Exploration Leadership Team responsible for setting the company’s global Exploration strategy. She joined Chevron in 2004 as an Exploration Geophysicist for their Texas and Alaska North Slope US assets. Throughout her career she has gained broad technical and business experience of increasing responsibility. She has held roles across Chevron’s corporate business segments focused on North America, West Africa and the Technology Center, where she worked in technical earth science, organizational capability and strategic planning. She is an active member of Chevron’s Women Executive and SOMOS (Latin American and Hispanic) employee networks which promote STEM, internal and external mentoring, and diversity and inclusion in the workforce. Monique has a B.S. degree in Geology from the University of New Orleans and a M.S. in Geophysics from the University of Texas El Paso. In her career, Monique has lived and worked in multiple locations such as Midland, TX, Lafayette, LA and Houston, TX working for Chevron and Conoco.
Anthony Paul Pink

Tony graduated with a BSC in Geology from University College of Wales and has a post graduate diploma from Harvard Business School. He is currently the CTO for NOV Wellbore Technologies, responsible for automated digital solutions and geothermal drilling. He has published and presented 14 SPE/IADC papers and has 4 Patents.
William David Raatz
William Raatz Oxy Petroleum, USA
Bill Raatz is Worldwide Chief Geologist and Oxy Fellow at Occidental. He holds a PhD in Geology from the University of Wisconsin•Madison, and a BS and MS from the University of Iowa. Bill has 28 years of industry experience with ARCO, the New Mexico Bureau of Geology, and Occidental working the Permian Basin, Alaska, Gulf of Mexico, South America, Middle East, and Africa. As Chief Geologist Bill is responsible for Geologic training, career development, technical best practices, and Reserves. Bill teaches field and classroom courses in carbonate reservoir characterization and is a member of AAPG’s Corporate Advisory Board and Search and Discovery editorial board.
