Speaker
  • Tom Blasingame, Professor, Texas A&M University

This presentation provides a “State of Unconventionals” from the perspective of geoscience and engineering technologies which have evolved and enabled the development of unconventional reservoirs. This will include discussions regarding technology and economic “triggers,” as well as timelines. The presentation will focus on current needs as well — e.g., well spacing, well placement, fracture-directed interactions (“frac-hits”), reservoir and production engineering tools/needs, and the role of geology and reservoir fluids. The goal is to provide a comprehensive overview of the state of technology for unconventional reservoirs, but in a language and format suitable to both technical and non-technical audiences.
