Four Policy Statements Approved

The AAPG Division of Professional Affairs' Governmental Affairs Committee has produced a total of nine statements since 1998 that have received the Executive Committee nod. Recently four Policy Statements concerning issues facing the upstream industry were approved at an October meeting.

Exploration in the deep water Gulf of Mexico may be even better than the success of drilling on the Gulf shelf. The deep offshore Gulf has more remaining, recoverable resources than the shoreward provinces. Recent discoveries seem sure to increase resource projections for the Gulf.
