Ronald A. Nelson operates Broken N Consulting, a fractured reservoir and structural geology consulting company, and Broken N Oil & Gas, a natural gas exploration and production company. He has a BS in paleontology, a MS in inorganic geochemistry and a PhD in structural geology and rock mechanics.
Dr. Nelson previously worked for Amoco in Research and technology and International Exploration and BP in technology. He has over 100 publication citations, including two editions of the book entitled Geologic Analysis of Naturally Fractured Reservoirs.
He has taught over 80 industry courses. He is past Vice President of the AAPG, Past President and Vice President of the Houston Geological Society, an AAPG Trustee Associate, AAPG Charles H. Taylor Fellow and recipient of the AAPG Robert R. Berg Outstanding Research Award.
