Tao Sun is a senior principal geologist with Chevron Technology Center and is currently leading the research and development of science and technology to enable 3D prediction of reservoir architecture and performances by linking stratigraphy to fundamental physics processes using digital and high-performance computing technologies. Earlier in his career, Sun worked at ExxonMobil Upstream Research Company as an R&D researcher and late as senior technical advisor for Earth modeling. Sun received his bachelor’s degree in physics from Peking University, China, and a master’s and doctorate in physics from Oslo University, Norway. Sun is the recipient of the Norwegian Research Council Postdoctoral Fellowship and conducted his postdoctoral studies in St. Anthony Falls Laboratory, Minnesota.
