Raffaele Di Cuia holds a degree in Earth Sciences (University of Ferrara, Italy) and an master’s in Basin Analysis and Evolution (Royal Holloway College - University of London. He speaks fluent English, French and Italian. He is technical director and board member at Delta Energy Limited (London), an E&P company specializing in exploration and appraising carbonate reservoirs and in thrust belt exploration.

Di Cuia previously was technical director at GE Plan Consulting (Italy) and held technical positions with Total S.A. (France), Fina E&P (Italy) and he began his career with Arco British Ltd (UK). He has 22 years of experience in E&P industry and he has worked as an asset geologist, an exploration geologist in deep offshore plays and as a reservoir geologist in fractured carbonate and clastic turbidite reservoirs.

Throughout his career he has been involved in multidisciplinary studies from the early exploration/basin evaluation to reservoir characterization, seismic and drilling planning and execution, prospects generation, early production, reservoir modeling and late re-evaluation of old HC fields or basins.

Di Cuia has worked on projects in different countries of Europe, Middle East, Russia, the Caspian Sea region, North and South America and North and Central Africa. Since 2005 he has been running training courses on the characterization of complex carbonate reservoir for oil and gas companies and for professional associations.
