I graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1984 in a very difficult work environment, following the crash in oil pricing. I worked for two Independent Oil Companies as a prospecting geologist with duties of generating, marketing, wellsite, and development activities. This experience included 3D seismic interpretation using paper sections and time slices. I saw a business opportunity to invest in a 3D workstation as a business plan and began my own exploration and consulting business. I have been active in those endeavors ever since. I enjoy giving back to the associations that meant so much to me as I was “cutting teeth” in the oil and gas business. This includes being treasurer and president of the Oklahoma City Geological Society, a director of the OSU Boone Pickens School of Geology Alumni Advisory Board, and giving technical talks to other societies such as the Society of Independent Earth Scientists (SIPES). Last week I traveled to San Antonio to deliver the technical talk to their SIPES lunch meeting.
